RW Motorsports, participants in various USAC National Race Teams, inclusive of the #17b Midget car, acquired Fontana Automotive in January 2010 from owner Joe Fontana. The RWMS Team, led by Steven Weirich and Mario Rotondo, is proud and excited to add this new element of racing excellence to our company - providing Championship caliber engines to the Midget racing community. Fontana Automotive will be operated with the same commitment to performance and winning by new owner Steven Weirich, 2009’s National Midget Series Champion, Brad Kuhn and Rick Paradis. 

Possessing parallel values of dedication to quality of performance and a drive for winning, RW Motorsports looks forward to the opportunity to propel the existing success of the Fontana products to the forefront of the this ever-growing division of racing. Fontana Automotive has been committed to bringing innovation and state-of-the-art design to specialty engine products for the past 25 years. Fontana’s premier product, the New Generation midget engine, based on the GM four cylinder, is the result of 25 years of on-going development. It meets the expressed needs of today’s racer.
